Gwyn Symmons was appointed as a Fact Finder by the BC Government to investigate a lengthy dispute between the Regional District of North Okanagan and Silver Star Resort. The dispute focussed on short and long-term water supply for the resort, but planning and governance issues were also intertwined. Notwithstanding the challenges, the review resulted in common ground among the various parties, and a commitment to continue to implement plans for the future. The resort has now expanded its 30,000 m³ reservoir to 250,000 m³, and constructed a new water treatment system.
