The Cathedral Hill Renewal process began when the Anglican Diocese of British Columbia established the Cathedral Hill Renewal Task Team, and charged this group with preparing a bold, compelling, and comprehensive Vision for the renewal of the precinct.

The Vision acknowledges:

• The need to address current building deficiencies;

• The significance of the Diocesan, Parish, and School missions;

• The historic and municipal significance of the Diocesan buildings/grounds;

• The interest of various stakeholders, including parishioners, students, staff, parents,

and neighbours; and

• The aspirations of the City of Victoria concerning the Cathedral Hill Precinct Plan.

CitySpaces Consulting was contracted by the Task Team to assist with the engagement of all Parishioners of the Diocese, and the Christ Church Cathedral School community in a consultation process to develop a long-term renewal vision of the Cathedral Hill block.

The Cathedral Hill Renewal consultation process was directed by an overarching vision statement: “A gathering place where the exploration of faith and learning transforms the individual and the community”.
