Rock-Bay-Landing-Victoria-CitySpaces

CitySpaces provided planning, neighbourhood consultation, and project management services for a new shelter facility to be located in Rock Bay, Victoria. The site was one of three identified in the Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Victoria and the province of BC to tackle homelessness. Rock Bay Landing was designed to replace the existing undersized Streetlink shelter on Store/Swift Street. The new shelter has 82 shelter beds, two family shelter units, and 23 transitional housing units. The facility was opened in 2010 and targeted a LEED® Gold rating.

Following completion of Rock Bay Landing, CitySpaces managed the conversion of the Streetlink Shelter to supportive housing, becoming part of the existing Swift House. Both Rock Bay landing and Swift House are operated by the Victoria Cool Aid Society, a non-profit society playing a key contribution to the goal to ending homelessness in the Victoria region.
