YWCA Hotel Expansion

The YWCA Hotel is a social enterprise operated by the YWCA Metro Vancouver and located in Downtown Vancouver. It was originally constructed in 1994, with profit from the Hotel supporting the YWCA’s mission of providing support and housing for low-income single mothers and their children. The original Hotel was built with 155 guest rooms and was built to allow for an expansion on the existing building for 65 additional guest rooms. The Hotel provides accommodation for travellers to Vancouver as well as those in need of affordable short-term accommodation.

Acting as the Owner’s representative for the YWCA, CitySpaces coordinated the selection process for the Design Team and the Construction Manager and undertook a lead role in securing funding for project. CitySpaces continued to act as Project Managers as the project moved through the process of design development, approvals from the City of Vancouver, tendering, and construction.
